BSA525 Issue Two: Insight into the Opening Scene

 Date: 5/03/2021

Second class of my redemption, yay. First we went over some questions about scenes and went over some basic questions for some short films we are going to watch and how quickly we see them. We want over several movies such as Rio, An American Tail, Jaws, Scream and my favorite, Up. These were quite a good variation to show different beginnings of each film like a happy musical introduction contrasted to a dark thriller. We went through some explanations of montages and a interview with Alfred Hitchcock about how different images can change the perspective of the audience. We also went over some short animations with 3-act structures.

We then had come up with a short story with a three act structure, so lets give it a go.

ACT 1
In an art Gallery in France, two men were looking at a painting and were having a discussion on what the meaning behind the painting was.

ACT 2
The first man speaks, "I believe this artist was representing the racisim in society, as the brown swirls from the center are surrounded by the white canvas". The second man replies, "No no, he is showing how with time everything changes, like how it is slightly red at the center and the swirls have small yellow dots in them, leading it to an inconsistency in the past".

ACT 3
They argue for a few minutes before a third man walks over, and as he walks between the two men as they are flabbergasted. They both call out "Misure Jacque, please tell us what is the meaning behind your painting". Jacque looks at the canvas on the wall and goes, "Huh, I didn't paint this, who shat on my wall", and walked off, leaving the two men in shock.

Our Homework it wo watch a movie before our next class, so now I need to watch a movie, yay. We also have write a draft for our story, which should be quite fun.
